Valentino Vertigo

The Vertigo collection of the Valentino bags has the rippling rose molded out of the leather. The “petals” flow across the leather so smoothly that they almost seem to be in motion, and they cascade to the bottom in delicate ruffles. I don’t know what to say except maybe “wow”. The smooth sheen of the leather is the perfect balance of soft and durable. This Valentino handbag really looks like an artwork in its own right.
The shape of the Valentino bag is that of a traditional tote, but it doesn’t really matter, because the rose distracts you from everything behind it. It’s a great size for your next super chic shopping trip. And the rolled leather handles are durable and well-shaped, it might be har to sling this tote over your shoulder. It’s really meant for hand carrying, which could get tiring if you fill it to the top.
Valentino’s Nuage bow bag is a darling adored by millions
It’s a commonplace to say so, but it’s really hard to go wrong with Valentino handbags. I mean, if you can afford him, that is. Valentino bags are combination of elegant invention and timeless design. Every Valentino handbag is an instant classic, and the Nuage hobo is certainly no exception.
The traditional hobo shape is modernized by the gently squared-off bottom, and the thick, long single strap we’ve come to expect from the hobo is replaced by two delicate rolled leather handles with an 8.5″ drop. Perfect for holding by hand or slinging over your shoulder, and it won’t flop around like so many hobos with too long straps.
I love the subtle glaze on the leather, and the way the tiny, shiny gold logoplate is set off against the dark matte material. My favorite part of the Nuage, though, is the big black leather bow, which adds interest to the side of the bag, and is a feminine, but not too precious, touch.
The 14″ x 11.5″ x 9″ size makes it roomy enough for day, but there is something delicate about the Nuage that makes it feel evening appropriate as well. The pleating adds volume to the already luxuriously-sized exterior, and I love the minimal seams that doesn’t distract from its smooth front. The top features a hidden magnetic closure, and there are inside zip pockets to keep your valuables in place.
Victory Ford carried gold snake skin Nuage on the Lipstick Jungle show.

Financial crisis did not impact luxury handbags designers
The financial crisis hasn’t tainted the allure of our favorite luxury handbags. US magazine Forbes says the top three designer labels have maintained their worth in the face of the credit crunch.
Louis Vuitton handbags is still leading the pack with a brand value of $19 billion US. It’s streaks ahead of second place getters, Hermes bags, which has a net worth of $7.8 billion. But it might not be the bag bridesmaid for too long. Gucci handbags is nipping at Hermes’ heels with a value of $7.4 billion.
Financial experts say that high-end luxury brands have fared better during the global recession than their mid-market counterparts. They say bagistas would prefer to drop a few thousand dollars on a single investment piece than purchase many cheaper purses.
I’m not sure I agree with that, but I do believe handbag lovers are searching for quality rather than quantity. With many reliable on line vendors offering luxurious bags for less, I’m just not sure you need to rely on those iconic labels for that quality.

Fall 2009 Prada Handbags Hit the Runway at Milan Fashion Week
The fashion weeks are in full rage and have gone from one side of the world to the other without stopping for a breath. Milan’s runways are currently crowded with the newest fall fashions from bigwigs like Versace, Fendi, and, of course, prada handbags.
Prada handbag designs for fall 2009 are a rush of textures. There’s also an overwhelming amount of work-ish doctor’s bag shapes, which seems to be an trend for the season.
If you’re thinking the collection sounds masculine, though, think again. After a handful of obligatory leather bags, picture a parade of bejewelled clutches and dyed fur. Yes, folks, handbags covered in fur and looking like an actual animal with a shoulder strap sticking out of it. I can’t imagine what PETA’s reaction is. Hmmm … something about the devil wearing it comes to mind.
